Jesus Christ Superstar is a musical that tells the story of the last days of Jesus' life. Written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, it is considered one of the best pieces in the musical theatre cannon.
Fred Hampton was the chairman of the Black Panther Party in Chicago. Similar to the accounts of Jesus Christ, his efforts in helping his community and leading by example was seen as a threat to the authorities which led to his fatal death.
I would like to raise money to do a concert version of the show that is reimagined to reflect the story of Fred Hampton.
