Hey All, my name is Noah Henderson and a little over a year ago a funny little dog named Charlie came into my life. At about 8 years old, Charlie was found roaming the streets and was picked up and placed in a dog shelter in Los Angeles, CA. It didn't take long for a few kind souls and a dog rescue organization to take Charlie in and begin the search for a foster home. As luck would have it, I found Charlie on Instagram and offered to foster him for a week over the holidays. That was December of 2021. Now in April of 2023, Charlie and I are still together and have had quite a start to the year. From January to March, there have been 2 vet emergency visits, 3 overnight hospital stays, 1 CT scan and 1 diagnosis of Sialocele and Sialolithiasis. What this means is that one of Charlie's salivary glands is leaking saliva and another salivary gland has stones. Thankfully, in his current state, Charlie is a happy guy with just a large lump on the right side of his face, but we are planning to correct the salivary glands via surgery later this month to avoid any future emergency room visits (fingers crossed). As you might expect, the medical bills have been steep and more are coming soon. In the past few months alone, the cost of Charlie's medical care has been just over $7K. The upcoming surgery costs will increase that amount to roughly $10K (if not more). For that reason, we are asking our friends, family, and community if they can chip in and help keep this sweet pup the happy and loveable guy that he is. We appreciate any and all support.
