Jon Conacher is a loving father to two adorable girls in Turtleford, Sask. Over eight years ago, Jonny had emergency surgery for an aortic aneurysm. He recovered from that surgery and carried on. He resumed working in the oilfield, helping his family with harvest, and even playing hockey.

However, last fall, medical staff were examining a hernia when they discovered an aneurysm in his abdomen. Further examination uncovered two more aneurysms, in his neck and shoulder. Doctors think these aneurysms are due to a connective tissue disorder.

Jon went on medical leave. Since then he and his family have incurred quite a few costs as they travel to and from medical appointments in the city. Some of those appointments have been directly related to the aneurysms, while others have been to rectify other health issues (ex. hernia) before surgeons tackle the aneurysm.

Jon is slated for surgery in June to repair two of the three aneurysms. This surgery will be in Edmonton, which will require more travel and expense for Jon and his family.
