I'm Ronan, I'm a transmasc/trans guy. Since I realised I was Not Cis, I knew that getting top surgery was the big thing I needed to happen to feel at ease in my body. When my GP put me on the waiting list for NHS care I asked how long it might take, roughly, to be seen. She said "I have no clue".

So, I am trying to raise the money to get it done privately. I wouldn't normally ask for money but this is something that will completely change my life and I am not able to wait 6+ years (time I've seen quoted on Tavistock & Portman Gender Identity Clinic website) to get this process started. I'm hoping that with my savings plus donations, I can get a date for surgery booked within 1 year.

I have already started the process of getting diagnosed with gender dysphoria privately (£550 for a 40-min appointment) and getting an appointment at a hormone clinic to get prescribed testosterone (so far, setting up the initial appointment has cost £250 but I think overall the appointments, prescription and regular endocrine check-ups will end up totally about £1000, paid over the next year). So, any donations would also help me recoup some of this money.

Estimates I've seen for the cost of top surgery in London start from £9,000.

I'm living on a student loan at the moment so while I am saving as much money as possible, I don't have a lot I can put aside.

P.S. the first thing I'm gonna do when it is safe after surgery is jump into a river or similar body of freezing, murky water - shirtless. The dream!!
