Jinky’s stroke recovery
Donation protected
On Thursday, November 29, while home alone with our dogs and 3 year old, my mother-in-law, Jinky, suffered what we thought was a stroke. After being rushed to the hospital, our concerns were confirmed that it was a hemorrhagic stroke on the brain stem. She has been in the ICU since Thursday night. Over the last 48 hours, she has had speech therapy to help with her swallowing, eating, and talking, which has been going well. She is able to eat soft foods, and her speech is getting a little better. She has also had physical therapy come in to help her fine motor skills and trying to get out of bed. She has some strength on both sides, but no feeling along the right side of her body. She is doing as well as can be, but has a very long road of recovery ahead of her. As of right now, we do not have a timeline of how long she will be in the hospital. Unfortunately, she does not have insurance at the time to help cover any of this. She will also be out of work for quite some time. Unfortunately life does not stop, bills will keep coming (hospital ones included), and care will be needed. If you can, any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
