Building my home

When my son was 3, we moved to Serra Grande, a lovely small community on the Cocoa Coast of Brazil. We have made our home there ever since, surrounded by glorious beaches, rainforest, waterfalls and dense biodiversity. I have dreamed of buying my own little piece of it to build on for many years, yet somehow it wasn't until this past year, amid the global pandemic and my own personal trials, that the right opportunity came together. I finally bought 1/2 an acre of fertile land about 2 miles outside of my town. After over a year away, I am now planning to go back and start building a home of our own. With very little savings and a sense of urgency I've never felt before, I am putting this campaign out to friends and family who might want to contribute and help me bring this future into the present. Over the next couple of years, I plan to build our own house and one or maybe even two small guesthouses for visitors and future vacation rental income. My first goal is to build one guesthouse quickly so that Max and I can live in it as soon as possible while we continue to build. With the U.S. dollar at the highest rate it's ever reached against Brazilian currency (6 to 1!), my funding target in this campaign would go a long way toward making that first goal a reality.
