I'm fundraising to buy an electric wheelchair so I don't have to go through the same horrid year as last year, I really hope you will consider helping.
I was the fit, healthy, sporty one undertaking a degree in dance and sports, not to mention the hours in the gym, dojo and various dance studios for enjoyment. ME & fibro put paid to that, and meant I was unable to work consistently or for more than 12 hours or so since, limiting my income and my life greatly.
Things improved a little from the initial days, but left me with constant pain and exhaustion amongst other delights. I've managed some volunteering with various charities and festivals over the years, but last year everything was brought to a halt by increasing levels of severe pain in my lower back and constant nerve pain and loss of full feeling or control in my right leg. Turns out the bottom of my spine has degenerated so discs have slipped and blocked the nerve route, compressing the nerve that goes down my right leg, hence the excruciating pain / partly numbness.
I want to get back out into the world and continue with the volunteering and enjoying life once again and to do this I need an electric wheelchair with support for my legs to be kept in a raised position as this is the only position that minimises the pain levels.
The NHS has a waiting list of years for providing wheelchairs, so I'm fundraising to buy one sooner, I think I deserve a break after all life has thrown at me!
Please help me to do this by supporting this fundraiser.
Thank you
