What started out as pneumonia quickly turned into respiratory failure and sepsis. This was only the beginning of a long, uphill battle Debbie and her family would have to fight.
It was only supposed to be a single check-up. Maybe even just an overnight visit. But soon after Debbie checked into the ER last week, her pneumonia only worsened. Her lungs filled with fluid and the doctors diagnosed her with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). This was not going to be just an overnight visit.
In fear of her condition worsening, Debbie was intubated and transported from Swedish Edmonds to Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle. Here, they were equipped with a full team of cardiovascular professionals and an Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
But with two ER visits, ambulance transport, and medication, the medical bills are rapidly increasing.
Today, Debbie is coming back. Slowly, but surely, she’s becoming herself again. She has made monumental strides toward recovery, and gradually transitions to getting back on her feet.
To those of you who have come to visit, we are extremely grateful. We feel your kindness and hear your prayers from what has felt like the darkest time in our life. Thank you.
If you are able to donate any amount to Debbie and her family in this GoFundMe, it would help tremendously during the rehabilitation and recovery process. We understand money is hard to come by these days, so even $5 or $10 is enough to help us progress. Anything counts, and we thank everyone who has been in our corner.
