Ginger's Medical Fund

Ginger, our lovable husky,  was hit by a car on December 6, 2016. Both of her back legs were crushed. We are very blessed that she did not have any other injuries. So far she has had her right leg put together with pins and plates and her ankle was fused together. Her left foot has only lost one toe. We were hopeful that because we were told she may not have to have anything else amputated that we would be able to pay for her medical bills, but we were told today that she will most likely have to lose the bottom part of her right leg and she may even lose her left foot which means at least one more surgery, probably more. She has been at the animal hospital since the day it happened in the ICU. Unfortunaly, we do not have pet insurance. Each day she is in the animal hospital costs $500. Not to mention her multiple surgeries. They initally quoted her medical expenses to be between $12,000-$15,000, but because of more surgeries than expected we believe it is going to be more than that. Ginger has always been a healthy dog, she let nothing get her down. She loves her toy pig, peanut butter, and snuggling on the couch. She is depressed, anxious, and not wanting to eat at the animal hospital and because she is in the ICU we are only able to see her 15 minutes at a time. These funds will be used for us to pay Ginger's medical bills, if we get more than expected then we will donate the rest to the local humane society. Also if we get more than needed I would like to give a little to the two men who helped me get Ginger out of the road where she was hit and stayed with her until I got my car.  We have taken out a credit card and used almost all of our savings to pay the down payment for her to be able to be seen at the animal hospital in the first place. We have also taken out a personal loan to pay for part of her expenses but dont think it will be enough and are unable to take out other loans becaues we just purchased a home. They believe Ginger will be in the animal hospital for at least 4 more days, probably more and we need to pay the full amount of her stay there when she leaves. I know this isn't a good time of year to be asking for help but we can't give up on Ginger. She needs us now more than ever and she means the world to us. We are increadibly greatful for your help and prayers, we want everyone to be able to see Ginger when she gets home. We cannot thank you enough. God will help us through. To us Ginger is not just a dog, she's Ginger Thomas, our family member, our little girl.
