JC and Michelle’s Lets fight MS
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Melissa Sparks (Cottingim), i am Michelle's sister. I asking for help for their family as we just found out JC has MS.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system ). In MS , the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body.
"About 10 months ago JC started seeing a Dr for what they thought was a disc problem in his neck. Even after therapy and multiple appointments with a chiropractor he was just getting worse. Muscle weakness, tingling, and numbness in his legs, arms, and feet. Finally after months and months of no improvement he was referred to a neurologist and an MRI found lesions in his brain and spine. He was diagnosed with MS shortly after. His Dr wants him to start infusions with ocevus. Which usually runs 65,000 dollars a year. Along with other medications to help his symptoms. We are applying for aid through the drug company that makes the infusion drug to help with the cost but most likely we will have to pay a lot out of pocket for all of his medications."
JC is a self-contractor therefore if he does not work he does not get paid. Michelle's job does not offer insurance as it is a small business. My sister has three girls that are 15-Cora, 13-Ava, and 10-Myra. JC has always been a hardworking man who usually has 3 different jobs and likes to stay busy. So this is tough on them that he can't work like he has. His muscles have limited his ability to do certain things. By donating what ever you can, you will help their family with medical bills that are very expensive. It will also help with their everyday bills to take care of their girls. This disease has slowed JC down, therefore not being able to work as much and when he does work that money needs to go toward his shots so he can function. I understand it is the holidays and everyone including myself are tight, So what ever you can donate is appreciated and much needed. If you are unable to donate money that is fine and wish to help in other ways i am sure My sister will take anything you can do.
