Makinzie's fight

Makinzie Kendall Garcia was born on December 23, 2014 at 10:53 pm. She was born at 23 weeks old. Rich and I were on a Southwest airlines flight #313 from Chicago to Dallas to San Antonio coming back from our Christmas vacation. I started having contractions and bleeding, I thought I miscarried. The flight crew was amazing in trying to calm me down and give reassurance that things will be ok. They got us off the plane right away and the EMT's were great at getting us to the hospital in a hurry. Once we got to UT Southwestern I was checked and was already at 4 to 5 centimeters dilated. About 2 hours later I was at 9 centimeters and was ready to push. We were told she only had a 13% chance of living once she was delivered. They were able to intabate her and she is stable. She has long road ahead but she is a fighter! Rich and I are extremely greatful for the outpouring of love and support from our friends and family. We thank God for our blessing and thank everyone for all the prayers and blessings that Makinzie has received.
