Dylan Thompson will always be the man we remind ourselves to be. A man who never let fear or doubt stand before his desire to live with no regrets. He will always remind us that if you’re blessed with the means to help, you help. If you are blessed with the means to give, you give. And most importantly, you never give up!

 

Having the honour to consider him a friend is a true blessing in itself. Dylan is a person who gives so much of himself to helping others. He quickly became a highly valued and respected firefighter on PEI after gifting the Kinkora and Area Volunteer Fire Department with over a decade of loyal service. Over those 10+ years, Dylan became a true asset to both the Kinkora and Area Volunteer Fire Department, the PEI Fire School, and the surrounding communities.

 

A few weeks ago, Dylan was informed that he had a very rare tumor located in his spine. Shortly after this shocking prognosis, his only option was immediate surgery followed by chemo and radiation therapy with potential long term paralysis in his legs. With his wife Kelly and daughter Paige by his side, Dylan faces a long road to recovery.

 

Despite the odds, Dylan’s “never give up” attitude, his undying strength, and perseverance will no doubt lead him into his journey of healing. Having said that, let’s do our part to support Dylan, Kelly, and Paige during this difficult time. We appreciate any help for this family.
