My family is going through something I never imagined we’d face. My sister’s home was destroyed in a fire, and they lost absolutely everything — every belonging, every memory, every comfort. The kids escaped with only the clothes they were wearing.

Her husband is in the hospital with second‑degree burns and severe smoke inhalation. He’s on a support machine while the doctors fight to stabilise him. Watching my sister try to stay strong for her children while worrying about her husband has been heartbreaking.

They have nothing left to rebuild with. No home. No clothes. No essentials for the kids. And on top of that, they’re facing a long medical journey.
