John's Stroke Recovery Fund
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of July 17th, my young, relatively healthy and hardworking partner, John suffered a stroke. His left side was significantly impaired. He is currently in Saint Joseph's Inpatient Rehab in Tacoma.
We are expecting him to come home on August 4th but it is unlikely that he will resume his normal work schedule for several months. Currently he is working hard to recover and is having several sessions of physical therapy each day.
Until John is back on his feet we will need to keep covering his insurance payments, co-pays and regular monthly bills. Because of this situation, I have estimated that we will be about $25,000 short when all the bills start coming in. To break it down somewhat, it looks like we will be in debt almost $10,000 for the emergency room and tests. An additional $8,000 will be needed for the initial hospital stay, as well as $5000 for the inpatient rehab. At this point we don't know what kind of outpatient rehab will be needed, but it is almost certain he will have some. These medical expenses will create a strain for us financially.
Most of you already know we live a pretty simple life and we don't need much. However, I've missed a lot of work because of John’s sudden health reversal, so my income will be all going toward our shared monthly expenses.
We are feeling a great deal of stress already in just trying to adjust to the initial calamity, and the uncertain future. I fear that the prospect of an uncertain financial future will overwhelm us.
We plan to fight, but we pray that others will take up our cause. If you can help financially in even the smallest way, we will know we are not alone in this battle. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Lasica
