Help us to help them

Hi everyone

As you know we have been rescuing and rehabbing Pigeons for 4+ years.

We had a spare room, then a man cave....now its a pigeon nursery!

We receive a few donations from finders, but nothing near enough to pay for the birds in our care. Any rehabber will tell you we're not in it for the money. What matters is helping a bird get better, or recover from their injuries, and releasing them to fly free again. The ones that are too disabled to be released can stay here in their forever home with all the support that they need.

This year is the first time that we have had to say No to some birds as we simply had no more space. Saying No has broken our hearts as these beautiful birds needs help and there are precious few people who care for them.

We currently have 18 pigeons in the lounge and 7 in the nursery....mad is not the word.

Being in the lounge is stressful for the birds as they are wild animals and human interaction and noises should be kept to an absolute minimum.

We have decided to add a rescue 'building' for the birds where they can feel safe and recover from their injuries and illnesses. This will be a new shed in the garden which will be adapted with shelving, lighting and storage for the birds needs.

We are hoping that our family and friends will donate towards the pigeon fund - however small the amount - every penny will help us out. We have costed this project and its an eye watering £1,400 so we are hoping to raise half this amount and we will fund the rest ourselves. If we can raise more it will go towards the costs.

If you can help with a donation, however small, it will go a long way to towards helping us and these very misunderstood birds.
