Stair Lift for Kristine Neher

Donation protected
My name is Donald Chaney and I am married to Kristine Neher Chaney.
Kristine and I have three children: Kayla (17), Alyssa (17), they attend Walkersville High School and a son Brandon (8) who attends Woodsboro Elementary School. We have been married for three years and together for thirteen. Our life together has been filled with love and courage. We choose to stay together and to keep busy living.
Kristine graduated from the University Of Maryland in 1991 with a BS degree and honors. She was employed as a Montgomery County Public School Teacher for 20 years. She loved teaching math and has worked with kids who had problems with math at Ridgeview Middle School in Quince Orchard, Md. On June 02, 2012, she was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, also known as Gioblastoma Multiform or GBM is the most common form of Primary Brain Cancer in adults.
On June 11, 2012, Kristine had her first surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, to remove the tumor from her brain. When the surgery was completed she then went through eight weeks of chemotherapy and eight weeks of radiation treatments. Her cancer then went into remission. She continued on a monthly basis to travel to Johns Hopkins getting MRI's to monitor her brain.
On October 2, 2013, the Doctors felt the need to go back in to get a closer look at what was showing as a mass on her scans which turned out to be scar tissue. After her second surgery Kristine had to retire from her job as a school teacher and apply for permanent disability. She continued the journey of going to Johns Hopkins on a monthly basis to get MRI's of the Brain.
In April of this Year, we were told that the cancer had come back and that she would have to come back to Johns Hopkins for her third surgery. On April 27th, 2015, She had the surgery but there were complications. She had a stroke that caused her to be paralyzed on her right side. While recovering from the surgery she was transported from Johns Hopkins to Adventist Rehabilitation of Maryland in Rockville, MD for physical therapy to regain use of her right side. She was at Adventist Rehab for six weeks.
She has made some progress and is now at home. I am her total care provider since she is unable to do some things. I am there to assist her with the things she has problems with. Washing, bathing, going up and down stairs, going to the bathroom, sitting and standing, and going to and from her doctor’s appointments. She is now scheduled to for another eight weeks of Chemotherapy and eight weeks of Radiation treatment beginning June 12, 2015. I will be transporting her to and from those treatments.
I am currently not working full time because I am taking care of her and the Kids. I prepare meals for our two girls and our son, clean the house, do laundry, take our son to school, pick him up, and make sure that Kristine is taking her medication on schedule. I am committed to my wife and the life we share together. I have been a Referee in Youth Sports for over twenty years as a means of generating some extra income. I have a current and active, CDL license. However, since I am providing full time care to Kristine and the family, I am no longer employed Full Time. My prayer is that God will provide and the girls and I will do the best we can to work through this as a family. For whom ever this letter reaches Thank You from the bottom of our hearts. Your gift to us will be a treasure that touches our family deeply. God Bless You and may the Lord be gracious unto you as he has been to us.
