I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of one of the most kind and selfless people I know — someone who would never ask for help herself, even though she’s always the first to offer it to others. Right now, she and her family are going through something heartbreaking, and they need our support.

Their beloved cat Pax — their first furbaby and cherished member of the family — suddenly took a turn for the worse in just 24 hours. He stopped eating or drinking, became lethargic, and his heart rate dropped dangerously low. After rushing him to the vet, they were told he is in ketoacidosis, a serious and life-threatening condition. They are doing everything they can to stabilize him right now, and an ultrasound is scheduled in the morning to determine if there’s anything else going on internally.

Pax is so much more than a pet — he’s family. The estimated bill for Pax’s emergency care is between $7,000–$10,000 — a cost that’s overwhelming, but necessary to give Pax a fighting chance.
