Let me tell you a little bit about our friend Kimmie; you never met a more honest, sweet, loving and most of all giving person. Heck, she even loves the Grinch!!! I chose this picture because it is so Kimmie...she always sees the good in people, no matter what, she has always looked past the exterior and treats everyone she meets with respect and kindness. She truly would give the shirt off her own back for anyone in need, and now she needs us! It is not something she would ever say, so we will say it for her.

Kimmie was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and will be going into surgery for a complete hysterectomy where they will determine what stage the cancer is at. Her recovery will be 6-8 weeks from the surgery alone. Kimmie is currently working two jobs...her full time job ironically is in a Hospital caring for others for 45-50 hours a week and then she also does hair just to get by. No one should have to worry about how they are going to financially pay their bills, possibly lose everything they worked for on top of the stress of battling a terrifying disease such as cancer.

I refer to her as "Our Kimmie" because she has been a friend to sooo many in our village!!! Whether that village be in Somers, NY where she grew up, in the music community as a musician and as a supporter, in her family as a Mom, a Sister, an Aunt, a Cousin...as a dear, dear friend to her "Ya-Yas" for over 35 years. In her past and current home of Cape Coral, FL...Kimmie has many villages...

And it takes a village....please give what you can so that she does not have the burden of wondering how to pay her monthly bills as well as the mounting medical bills at the same time as fighter the "C" word. And if you can or you can't....prayers go a long way too.
