Jazmyn's Scoliosis (VBT) Surgery

Hi, my name is Andrew, and I'm fundraising for my ten-year-old niece. She was born with congenital scoliosis, and her surgery is fast approaching. The high costs for Jazmyn's surgery are overwhelming. Her parents and I have been working tirelessly to save as much money as possible to afford her surgery. Jazmyn will be undergoing what is called VBT (Vertebral Body Tethering) surgery. The surgery alone can be as high as $140,000. Jazmyn's insurance covers most of the procedure, but there will still be medical costs that aren't covered, including her aftercare. She will be in surgery for roughly ten hours and will be spending ten days in the hospital. Her parents will have to take at least a week off from work; as you can imagine, their normal bills will pile up. It has been a very stressful time for all of us, especially due to the rising living costs.

Jazmyn has been such a strong individual. Not only was she born with congenital scoliosis, she was also born with bilateral cleft feet. She has had a total of seven surgeries on her feet since she was six months old. She has been in full leg casts multiple times. Jazmyn is able to walk but not like normal kids. She is not able to do activities that most children her age are able to do. But she doesn't let that deter her, and she understands that she won't be able to do certain sports/activities like cross country, basketball, soccer etc. She has a love for water and is becoming an avid swimmer. Jazmyn is also a phenomenal singer and has a huge passion for animals.

You can imagine how hard it is for Jazmyn's parents and it is for myself. I have been in her life since she was born. I have been by her side helping her as much as possible. We as a family know the struggles that most people face in life. We only ask out of the kindness of your hearts that you would be willing to help in any way that you can. Every single penny raised will be used for Jazmyn's surgery and aftercare. Jazmyn is the most important person in my life and will do anything to make her life better.
