IMMANUEL!: A Dramatic Reimagining of the Greatest Story Ever Told

What's it all about?

My chamber recital is a dramatic re-imagining of Jesus's, life utilizing music that spans from the baroque period to the 21st century, while also including works that show genre influence over time. The recital will incorporate arts across disciplines to form a connected and empathetic experience with community engagement as a focus. It is the telling of one of the greatest stories ever told in a way that is accessible for people who practice religion and people who don't.

This recital consists of over 50 participants representing various communities; It focuses on community, connection, social justice, and healing through a lens of empathy which are focal points of my research. I hope to see you there in person or virtually!

What's a chamber recital and what is its purpose?

Chamber music is a form of classical music that is composed for a small group of instruments. As a fulfillment of my degree, it displays my musical and interpersonal technical skills. With chamber music, we learn to listen and watch our collaborators closely to note things such as when we are leading or following. It also fosters a cohesive environment for constructive criticism among the collaborators.

How will sponsorship help this recital?

This recital includes works with choir and orchestra such as John Rutter's Lux Aeterna and movements from George F. Handel's Messiah. Musicians will include:
