Hello! My name is Jazmine Colon, I am a graduate of Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts class of 2015 where I majored in Dance. Since dance has been my one true passion, after many years of hard work, I am pleased to announce that I will be attending Point Park University in the class of 2019 as a Dance Major. I am very excited to embark on this new and life changing experience where I will be able to further my education and persue my dance career. This is a four year program where I will earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree and is located in the eclectic city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Out of 1,000 applicants for this program, only 75 dancers were chosen. Being a part of this prestigious program will give me the hands-on, real world experience I need to succeed in the dance world.  After my four years as a college student I wish to join a dance company like Complexions Contemporary Ballet or Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Gratefully, Point Park University has awarded me with an Artistic Merit Scholarship of $13,000 dollars per year, which in total is $52,000 dollars in scholarship money for the entire four year program. Although this amount helps emensely, it covers less than half of the tuition cost which does not include housing/books. I have made this GoFundMe to help assist me with my college expenses such as housing, tuition, books, and transportation from South Florida to Pittsburgh, PA for my first year of college.
