Love of my life, wonderful father, pillar of the indianapolis music & production community, and dear friend to many — Jay “Smokin’ James” Stein — was in a tragic life threatening accident on december 14th 2022. After two weeks on life support, he awoke to discover his life would be changed forever. 

We didn’t realize that Jay’s disability medical coverage had lapsed — he now has new insurance for medical bills occurred after february 1st, but remains responsible for paying everything up to that point. Because he wasn’t driving, his car insurance is going to pay $110,000. A silver lining, yet leaves us facing a $250,000+ hospital bill nonetheless. 

Many of Jay’s kind, loving friends reached out to offer both emotional and financial support during this uneasy time. Swallowing enough pride for both Jay and myself and accepting, gratefully.

I wish I had more inspirational words but I’m drained. We love you all. Jay has a long road to recovery but he will certainly get there.
