Jay’s Road to Recovery — Help After Emergency Tumor Surgery

Donation protected
My name is Jay, and over the past few months my life has pivoted very suddenly. What started as stomach pain quickly turned into a medical emergency. Doctors discovered a ruptured tumor in my small intestine, and I underwent surgery to remove it. The surgery saved my life as the tumor was successfully removed. I’m incredibly grateful to be here, but the experience marked the beginning of a long and challenging recovery.

Since the operation, I’ve developed gastroparesis, a condition that prevents my stomach from emptying normally. This has made eating and staying hydrated challenging, and recovery has been a daily process of small steps forward. In addition, my doctors have recommended oral chemotherapy for the next three years to reduce the risk of recurrence. I began treatment recently and feel fortunate that, so far, the side effects have been minimal. Still, this is a long journey, and I’m taking it one day at a time.

Recovery has meant repeated hospital visits, CT scans, lab tests, and specialist appointments. Each step has been focused on helping my body heal and preventing the tumor from returning. Healing has been slow, but I’m making progress one step at a time. Even with that progress, recovery is ongoing. This unexpected medical crisis has created a significant financial strain. Between emergency surgery, hospital stays, medications, specialist visits, and ongoing treatment, the costs are overwhelming.

If you are able to help, your support will go toward medical bills and treatment costs, prescription medications and chemotherapy, follow-up testing and specialist visits, and nutritional support during recovery. Any amount truly makes a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean just as much. I’m deeply grateful for the support, encouragement, and kindness I’ve already received. It means more than I can express. It has helped me stay strong during one of the hardest times in my life. Right now, my goal is simple: to heal, regain my strength, and move forward with hope. Thank you for being part of my recovery journey.
