Help Jay to get to International Mr Leather 2025!

Hi Laird Leatherman 2024 here! I am putting together a GoFund to help assist me to cover the costs of flights and accomodation to help me get me to Chicago to compete in the International Mr Leather completion held in may this year.

After an incredible title year, it is my total dream to head to Chicago to represent my community of Melbourne and The Laird hotel at international level. The competition will see Leathermen from all over the world head to Chicago to compete in this competition that has been going since 1979. Australia first won the title when Patrick Brookes from Sydney took out the title in 1980.

I ask for the assistance of my community to help my dream come alive! It is important to me to represent not only the community here in Melbourne, but represent the history of The Laird hotel and its long standing connection to the leather community.

When I travelled to San Fransisco in 2023 I ended up in Soma, the Leather District. As I looked up at the Leather Pride Flag, I knew that I had found my place in the world and knew what I was going to do with my life. I went on to go back to Melbourne and won the Laird Leatherman Competition for 2024. What unfolded was the most amazing year of my life. I had a sense of purpose in my heart I had never felt before. I felt an honour to be apart of this extensive history and wanted so much to make the most of it. The opportunity to head to International Mr Leather really would be a dream come true to me. I hope with all my heart, I can make it happen.

The amount of $5000 is to help cover the costs of my flights and accomodation. I will be in Chicago there for 6 nights. With our little Aussie dollar in the land of the U.S.A it is a hefty expense and one I won't be able to fund all myself.
