My almost 2 year old son Jay was born with congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV). As a result, he is deaf in one ear, nearsighted, and has spastic quad cerebral palsy. The cerebral palsy effects his motor skills and has made it hard for him to learn how to eat, roll, sit, crawl, rotate his arms to grab things, and walk on his own. He has physical, occupational, and speech therapy every week and has been making progress, but our therapists have recommended a gait trainer, and insurance will not cover one with the proper additions that he needs. 

This fundraiser is to help raise money to get him a gait trainer. Gait trainers help kids with cerebral palsy to learn how to properly hold up their own weight and eventually learn how to walk and improve mobility. His therapists have helped us to find a used gait trainer for a significant discount. With the current COVID situation, I am unable to return to work because Jay is at higher risk for severe complications if he were to get the virus. As a result, I am asking for assistance raising the $1000 to get him the equipment that he needs to learn how to walk. 

Additionally, in February, Jay had a feeding tube placed because he was unable to eat on his own. Insurance has covered a backup feeding tube  which we have already had to use and will not cover another one, so if we have any issues with his tube port for the rest of the year, I would not have a backup one. None of the hospitals near us stock the smaller sized tubes that Jay would need, so getting one on short notice would be difficult as the closest childrens hospital is over 2 hours away. These tubes are $300, so we are asking for an additional $300 to help cover a backup tube in case we end up needing to replace his. 

Its hard for me to publicly ask for financial help, but anything anyone would be able to contribute would mean the world to us. Our little boy deserves to be able to explore the world like other little kids - please help us get him there. Thank you.
