Help Jayni Afford Gender-Affirming Surgical Care!

Who am I and what is this for?

Hi, I'm Jayni! I'm a 37 year-old trans woman living in NC. I've been medically transitioning since November 2020 and am now at the point in my transition where I'm trying to afford several gender-affirming surgeries over the next 12-16 months or so.

My first surgery will be breast augmentation (BA) surgery on Nov 16, while in the following months I will hopefully also be having facial feminization surgery (FFS) and gender reassignment surgery (GRS). This GFM is to pay for these surgeries and to help cover necessary costs of recovery downtime and other related needs.

Why I need donations:

I have a pretty low-income job in the food service industry as a delivery driver. My apartment's rent is too high but it was all my wife and I could find this close to work. My insurance helps with the cost of the surgeries, but aside from a new benefits period starting Jan 2023 (which resets my deductible and max out of pocket cost), I also do not get paid time off from work and therefore my numerous recovery times will put me far behind financially.

I'm trying to put away what I can to go towards these costs, but my income and other financial obligations make it difficult. Aside from rent/bills, I've had to pay for a lot of laser hair removal out of pocket, which is necessary but also expensive. I also recently had to cancel a dental procedure and instead use the money I had saved on rent (which is scheduled to increase in 2023).

There's simply no way I can afford everything without help and I feel an incredible urgency to get these procedures done soon as possible while I still can or my mental health will suffer greatly.

So in a nutshell:

Medically transitioning to another gender is very expensive, especially surgery and especially without Paid Time Off, due to recovery times. Transitioning has always seemed like a far-fetched fantasy partly because of these costs, but getting these surgeries and becoming my truest self is extremely important to me and I will do whatever it takes. If you can help me achieve this lifelong dream and finally find peace within myself I would be eternally grateful! :D
