Help Support Jaynah’s Journey to Healing

Donation protected
Hi everyone! I’m Deana, Jaynah’s aunty and her Mom’s sister. I’m reaching out to you on behalf of Jaynah's Mom and Dad, Shun and Jonah, to share Jaynah’s story and ask for your support as she navigates a challenging road to recovery.

On October 19, 2024, Jaynah’s life changed in an instant. After waking up with a severe headache and neck pain, she lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors quickly discovered that Jaynah had a brain AVM that ruptured (Arteriovenous Malformation; a condition where blood vessels in the brain are tangled, causing blood to flow abnormally), leading to extensive bleeding in her brain.

To save her life, at the tender age of 10 years old, Jaynah was placed into a medically induced coma for nearly two weeks, giving her brain time to heal, and allowing the bleeding and swelling to subside. When she woke up, she was faced with a difficult journey of relearning basic skills like eating, sitting, standing, walking, and talking. Through daily physical and speech therapy, Jaynah showed incredible strength and resilience. She was discharged on November 18, 2024, but her road to full recovery is far from over.

Now, Jaynah is preparing for the next chapter of her journey, where she'll be receiving treatment at Stanford Hospital in California over the course of the next few months (beginning March 2025). She will undergo three embolizations (a medical procedure where doctors block a blood vessel to stop blood flow to a specific area), followed by surgery to remove the brain AVM. This is a critical step in her healing process, and she will need ongoing care and support as she recovers.

It is of utmost importance for Jaynah and her family to also take time for mental and emotional recovery before her treatments begin. During this time, it's encouraged for Jaynah and her family to rest, but also engage in activities that will support her well-being and reduce stress, allowing her and her family to prepare for the challenging months ahead.

As her aunty, I’m creating this donation fund to help cover the costs of her treatments and surgery, other medical expenses, airfare and accommodation for Jaynah and her family, and overall, the continued care she needs.

Your generous support will make a significant difference during this challenging time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help Jaynah continue her journey toward recovery. If you are unable to donate at this time, we kindly ask for your continued prayers for Jaynah.

Thank you for your kindness and support, and for standing by Jaynah throughout her upcoming journey to healing. It truly means the world to us.
