Jayna and her fight against breast cancer
Donation protected
One of our own, Jayna McMillen, has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Many of you know Jayna as a beloved member of the Truterra Data Coordination team. Jayna came to the DC team in its infancy, when it was a “hire your sister, friend or mother” campaign to build the DC team. Thankfully for us, Nikki Lee referred her mom, Jayna, to the team. Jayna is a core member of the team and gives to Truterra in the early mornings before she works her full-time job at a local bank, and after hours as well. Jayna has received resounding praise from the farmers she works with - they love her and her dedication to providing them with the best Truterra experience!
Due to her diagnosis, she is facing surgery yet to be formally scheduled, and will understandably take some time away from her bank job and Truterra. Jayna is a kind and quiet soul, not enjoying this spotlight. As I have reminded her over the past couple of weeks, it’s a blessing for others to support her in whatever form we can.
I would like to humbly ask for you to keep Jayna in your thoughts and specific prayers in the weeks and months to come. While I’d love nothing more than to visit with Jayna in person or bring her a meal, distance prohibits all of us from this opportunity. I’m hopeful you will consider joining this effort to bless Jayna so that the upcoming trips to the doctor and impending medical bills will not be a hindrance to her focusing on healing and recovery.
Nothing we do on this earth will change our outcome, but I firmly believe the words of James are true:
“Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.” James 1:2-4
“I can already hear one of you agreeing by saying, “Sounds good. You take care of the faith department, I’ll handle the works department.” Not so fast. You can no more show me your works apart from your faith than I can show you my faith apart from my works. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in glove.”
James 2:18
Simply put, friends: faith without deeds is dead. Let us all show Jayna our faith in her complete healing!
