Jaymeson’s medical bills

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kylynn Rodriguez and over the weekend a friend of mine, Jaymeson Hickey was in a devastating car accident. He was enjoying his weekend with a group of friends in Bend attending what looked like a dirt biking convention. Later that night he was riding in the bed of his buddies truck when they were struck by a drunk driver. Jaymeson was ejected from the bed of the truck and ended up in the ICU with a broken femur, a lacerated eye, and a small brain bleed. He is still in the hospital and he cannot speak because of the tube in his throat, but has squeezed his girlfriend’s hand and he makes movements when he hears his daughter’s voice. We are all praying for him.

Jaymeson is a hard working 22 year old father who shares his beautiful 6 year old daughter Bella with his long time girlfriend Sativa Burington.

When I say he is hardworking, I really mean it. Jaymeson works long hours learning the trade of plumbing so he can fill the roll of main provider for his family. He was going to start schooling for it soon as he intends to make a career as a tradesman.

Jaymeson is also an amazing friend and father. It wouldn’t be unusual for him to clock out of a long day at work and head to a friend’s house to help them with mechanics, or lend a ride or even a vehicle to a friend in need. In fact, I’ve known Jaymeson for 10 years and if I had to use one word to describe his character it would be generous. I know he’s personally helped me with rides, saved me when I got locked out of my house, and opened his home to me when I needed a place to go.

If you’re reading this and you know Jaymeson personally, you can probably think of a time when he’s been there for you. He’s spent countless hours outside of his busy life a father and employee helping those he cares about.

Jaymeson has been a loving father since day one. He has always been there for Sativa and Bella as they’ve navigated life together as teenage parents. He was there for the diaper changes and long nights and now he shares his hobbies with Bella. She loves to snowboard and ride bikes and quads with her dad. He’s teaching her to conquer her fears. I remember having a conversation with a friend about being afraid of heights once, and Bella heard us and responded with “why would you be afraid, just take your dad with with you”

From father, to employee, brother, son, best friend and lover, Jaymeson is many rolls and he is still very needed in all those rolls. This accident has greatly disturbed his life and lots of adjustments to him and his family’s life will be made going forward. As I said, Jaymeson is the main provider for his family and he will be out of work for a very long time. Days in the ICU without good healthcare means astronomical medical bills on top of the expense of Sativa missing work and the bills of traveling between their home in Albany and the hospital he’s at in bend.

What happened to Jaymeson was not his fault. He and his family did not deserve this tragedy. He has been there for so many of us, please help me lighten the burden and stress of this situation by donating whatever you can. I understand everyone cannot afford to donate, but if you’d like to help please please share! Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
