Jayme Andrews (King Fisher)
Donation protected
On July 28th, 2023, our sweet Jayme, often known as the drag king "King Fisher", left us and returned to the spirit world.
Jayme was loved dearly by both indigenous and queer communities. This loss is devastating and at times beyond comprehension.
We want to honour Jayme the way he deserves and have been working tirelessly to make sure that happens. Please help us send our sweet kin off in a way that represents the wonder of his life.
We are collecting funds for a multitude of purposes including;
To give Jayme the best possible celebration of life and reception (details below).
To recover the costs of hosting burning ceremonies and gatherings. All of these were done beyond our current means because we saw the imminent importance of them.
To recover from the loss of work that could not and did not take precedence over self-preservation and community care.
To make sure that Artemis (also known in drag as Heathen) is able to take care of their belongings, moving costs, and their own grief.
TO BUY THERAPY and have access to healing ceremonies.
To recoup from countless Uber rides in order to make sure our friends were safe.
To have the funds available for any future decisions we must make regarding Jayme.
We know how much he meant to each and every one of you. He trusted a group of us to honour him and care for the community in the best way we can. Thank you all for your trust and support during this time. We may never make sense of this grief. It has been beautiful to see the way that the community has come together and we know that's what he would have wanted.
We love you, we love you dearly, and we hold you every day.
Organized gatherings:
A celebration of life will be held at the Birdhouse (44 W 4th Ave, Vancouver) on Wednesday, August 9th from 1-3 pm.
Afterwards, a reception will then be held at his favourite gathering location at Sunset Beach from 7pm onwards.
Big love from,
