With heavy hearts, we are starting a GoFundMe for the family of Jaylon Johnson, a beloved son, friend, and teammate whose life was tragically cut short. Jaylon was an amazing son, a student who was focused on reaching his goal to make it as a Division 1 ball player and eventually play professional, a wonderful teammate, and a kind soul who made everyone he met feel welcome. His smile could light up every room, and his deep passion for basketball was evident every time he stepped on the court. He brought joy, energy, and positivity to those around him and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

After playing a game with the Independence College Pirates Men’s Basketball team in Oklahoma, Jaylon collapsed and was hospitalized. Heartbreakingly, he passed away. His loss was completely unexpected, leaving his family to navigate unimaginable grief while also facing the financial responsibilities that come with such a sudden tragedy.

His parents are now preparing to lay their son to rest within the next 2–3 weeks, while also arranging to bring Jaylon home to Arizona and managing significant hospital and medical expenses.
