Hello! My name is Jaylin, and I am a high school junior aspiring to major in architecture with a minor in business analytics at Cornell University. In my freshman year, I applied to Cornell's pre-college program, only to be informed that it was “only for rising juniors.” Rather than letting this setback discourage me, I took proactive steps to pursue my passion for architecture.
That very summer, I attended Catholic University's four-week "Experiences in Architecture" program in Washington, D.C., immersing myself in both the academic and professional aspects of architecture. The following summer, I participated in Cornell's online business program and interned at an architecture firm in Miami, gaining hands-on experience in the field. During the school year, I furthered my education by enrolling in NYU's weekend architecture classes.
This year, I am proud to announce my acceptance into two very prestigious programs: Cornell University's six-week on-campus Introduction to Architecture Summer Program in NY and The University of Oxford summer courses in Architecture for 16/17 year olds in England- of which they only select 16 international students! Both programs are intensive, and taught by world-renowned faculty. While both will allow me to study architectural concepts, develop a portfolio, and gain invaluable experience in state-of-the-art facilites, I have finally decided to choose the once in a lifetime time opportunity to attend Oxford!
The total cost for the program is approximately $18,000, covering tuition, housing, meals, and activities. To ensure I can fully participate, I am setting a fundraising goal of $12,000 to cover expenses such as travel, supplies, and other related costs after family contributions.
Your support will not only help me attend this prestigious program but also empower me to continue my journey toward a career in architecture and business analytics. Thank you for considering a contribution to my future!
