Jayden the Warrior Grew his Angel Wings
Donation protected
UPDATED FEBRUARY 5, 2024
Jayden's journey on earth ended at 4:12 am, January 22, 2024 and he gained his angel wings and is healed in Heaven with our Savior. He fought the most courageous and faithful battle for 5 years and celebrating his life has been his moms honor and she will continue to shine his light. Jayden's mom, Ashley, was left to plan for Jayden's celebration of Life and burial. The costs have been more than Ashley could of imagined. We are trying to help her with some of the expotential cost so that Ashley can focus on her healing now. Please consider donating and sharing Jayden's story and praying for his mother.
Hello, we are updating our friend Ashley's story and current needs. Jayden's treatment at MD Anderson was unsuccessful and he is no longer a candidate for the trial. At this time, Ashley has become Jayden's caregiver fulltime and will be on FMLA from her church position. Please join in sharing their story, praying and donating. Your donations will go to covering expenses such as rent, electricity, food and other immediate needs allowing Ashley the ability to focus on Jayden, herself and faith.
From Ashley's most recent Caring Bridge update......
"We continue to pray for a miracle! Nothing is impossible for God! We choose to walk by faith and not by sight! Thank you for standing with us, loving us, and fighting this battle with us! God will get the glory from this story!"
Jayden’s Diagnosis
Five years ago, Ashley’s son Jayden was a happy, athletic 10-year-old boy. While playing basketball, he felt an excruciating pain in his right leg. He was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma.
After months of initial chemotherapy, Ashley and Jayden made the agonizing decision to amputate his right leg to stop the cancer’s aggressive spread. Since then, Jayden has undergone rounds of chemo and additional surgeries, defying most prognoses for his condition, but the cancer has continued to recur.
In 2021, after his third relapse, a more aggressive form of chemo began giving him seizures, and treatment in general created side effects they struggled to manage. Despite their constant effort to fight the disease, scans in March showed his existing tumors had grown and new tumors had formed.
MD Anderson
By a miracle, Jayden was accepted to participate in a trial at MD Anderson starting as soon as next week. And since Jayden is no longer a candidate for chemotherapy, this is his only remaining treatment option.
Throughout this journey, Ashley and Jayden have remained faithful. The same faith that calls us to carry each other’s burdens calls me to ask for your help.
Your Support
Ashley is responsible for all expenses associated with the medical trial – out of network copays for 30 weeks of treatment, transportation – and anything unexpected in between. Donations are needed to make this possible. Any amount you’re willing to contribute is appreciated and all money raised will be used immediately to support Jayden’s care.
Jayden often draws strength from 2 Timothy, 4:18 – the Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever.
Our hope in creating this page is to strengthen Ashley as she supports Jayden through this trial. Two are better than one – if either of them falls, one can help the other (Ecclesiastes 4:9–12). Thank you so much for your help.
