This is my nephew Jayden who is 12 years old. He loves sports, like most 12 yr old boys, and plays on the wrestling and baseball team for his school. He also absolutely loves being a big brother to his 2 younger sisters and his Great Dane Clementine.
About 2 yrs ago he was diagnosed with a growth deficiency and had to start daily hormone shot treatments. This was the beginning of what has been a long and undiagnosed road to recovery. Within the past year Jayden's health started rapidly declining, his weight loss was terrifying, weighing only 57 lbs. at 4.5 feet tall and having a 17 month bone delay which lead kids to tease him about his weight to where he developed extreme anxiety and defiant disorder and was put on Zoloft and Abilify. After going to four different hospitals throughout Ohio he was most recently diagnosed with metabolic high metabolism syndrome which means a feeding tube that runs from 10pm-2am nightly, auto immune problems and high thyroid levels. He has been hospitalized twice in the past month for multiple days up to a week having test after test run and GUESS WHAT??? still not gaining weight and could be extreme liver issues. We are putting all of our faith in Cleveland Medical(once we get the appt) that we will get the answers we need.
Unfortunately, the medical bills are starting to pile up and with all the travel expenses and work my sister and brother in law have missed things are getting tough. What makes it even more heartbreaking is that we still have no diagnosis. Thank you taking the time to read and hopefully donate but please share. Peace and love
