Support Jaydan's Fight Against Leukemia

Dear Family and friends,

We are setting up this GoFundMe account after receiving some heartbreaking news that turned our entire world upside down. Our sweet and loving Jaydan, who just turned 16 a couple weeks ago, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on Friday, November 15th, 2024, following a routine trip to the Emergency Room for pneumonia.

Blood testing revealed evidence of Pancytopenia, which is characterized by unusually low amounts of all three types of blood cells: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. An hour later, he was sent to the Critical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Chicago Medical Center (UChicago Medicine). They immediately needed blood transfusions, and he will begin chemotherapy in 24 hours.

Jaydan is a fighter and he has been since he was young. He is not only fighting this terrible disease, but he is also defying all chances as he navigates his daily life with Autism and a recent Epilepsy diagnosis.

We have only just begun the battle as a family! As he goes through chemotherapy and other treatments, we pray he stays courageous and resilient. His diagnosis unfortunately comes with several different types of treatments which not only will be extremely emotionally taxing, but will pose significant financial burdens. Your contribution will help cover medical costs, transportation costs from UChicago to his home, meals, and the support of the other three siblings during their brother's journey, as my wife will need to take time off from her full-time job to be by his side.

Please pray for Jaydan and our entire family. Pray that God watches over the doctors and nurses who are caring for him, that he is relieved of his physical and mental burdens, and that the entire family is at peace.
