Hi, my name is Michalene Martin, a family friend of the Hormann's. I have been assisting Chelsea with the CaringBridge site as well as the setup of the Go Fund Me site. It is always hard for a family to ask for help but after much debate and discussion with family and doctors, they have decided this would very helpful to ease some of the financial stress so they can focus more on recovery for Jayda.
A brief summary of the events:
On Monday 7/25/22 Jayda was bitten by a dog and made her way by ambulance to the local hospital and then by helicopter to Children's in Minneapolis to start surgery. Jayda had her first surgery on Monday night, and today (Tuesday) the family is meeting with the medical team to learn more of the steps that will be taken. At this time, we know it will be a long road to recovery with multiple appointments and future surgery.
