Hi, my name is Amanda Stern, and I am Jayda's aunt (commonly known as Aunt Sis  ). Jayda is 13 years old and was in an accident while playing on a swing set on Sunday, April 10th. She suffered a spinal injury in her neck that required emergency surgery. She was then transferred to Children's Hospital in Omaha by helicopter, where she will stay until she is stable enough to continue with rehabilitation at Madonna here in Omaha.
 


Jayda's journey to recovery will require many different teams of medical professionals. While we don't know how long it will take, we do know that her mom Abbie will need to be with her along the way, which will inevitably put a strain on finances. That is the least of Abbie's worries right now, but many people have reached out to help. So we have decided to start a GoFundMe to coordinate the efforts to support this family (Abbie, Jayda, and 10-year-old little brother Ricky). Any amount is very much appreciated, and we want to sincerely thank everyone for the tremendous support and love that we have already received.
