Jayci Davis Medical Expensenses

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented us with challenges we have never before experienced in our lifetime. That being said, it has presented  my sweet friends and co-workers, Ashley and her daughter, Jayci, with more challenges and complications that one family or one young lady should have to experience in a lifetime. It is my hope that you would read Jayci’s story and offer you support; any donation of any amount will make the world of difference for this family. Times are tough but when our children need us as parents, we put everything else on hold. Please help Ashley and Jayci have one less thing to worry about and provide them the additional funds needed to cover trips back and forth to the hospital, food and the ability to cover other expenses. Ashley has two additional daughters, Jayci’s sisters who struggle through this difficult time as well.

Jayci was born March of 2007 along with her twin sister; both were born healthy baby girls. Unfortunately that would all change for Jayci, at the young age of 2 when we are all filled with promise and hope for the future Jayci was diagnosed with cancer to her left femur called Ewing’s Sarcoma, but her fighting spirit stepped up, Jayci underwent amputation of her left leg and has adapted over the years with prosthetics. Her journey with cancer has not been uneventful and she continued to fight with a compromised immune system and required additional surgical interventions, but again the fighting spirit took hold and Jayci pulled through and regained the ability to walk.

In comes COVID-19, her family, knowing she was at extreme risk for a poor outcome if she contracted COVID-19 took all steps possible to protector her, alas she contracted COVID-19 anyway in March of 2020. As I am sure you know some people experience mild cases and it appeared that this would be the case for Jayci. However in May of 2020 Jayci began experiencing abdominal pain and nausea, she was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She was found with fluid on her lungs and immediately transferred to Children’s Hospital in Dallas and placed in the ICU. She had multiple blood clots and her little body began to shut down. But this wouldn’t be the end for Jayci she found the strength to fight and recover enough to go home, she spent 21 days in the ICU and 27 days total in the hospital.. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the last battle Jayci would have to endure, she was admitted to Children’s hospital again on 3/21/2021 due to dangerously low blood pressure, complications related to heart failure and gastrointestinal infection.

It would mean the world to me and to her family if you make a donation and send up some prayer for Jayci.  I appreciate you taking the time to read Jayci’s story and show this family your love and support.
