Jay's Transition Fund!

Hi! I’m Jay — a transmasc, native Texan, born and raised. My employer-provided health plan has an exclusion on all transition-related care, even if deemed medically necessary by a doctor. I've already sought assistance in getting my employer to change this policy; however, the benefits manager is unwilling to do so. I've contacted TransFamilySOS, the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF), and exhausted every avenue of request I have. They’ve all confirmed that a legal battle is the only remaining option at this time. Trying to legally challenge this exclusion (without any guarantee of success) is not an option for me financially. Postponing my surgery in order to legally challenge this exclusion would have a profoundly negative effect on my mental health. 

As of 7/26/2021, I was able to have my procedure done and I’m currently in recovery! However, I do still have to pay off the remaining cost of the surgery (CareCredit) by January 23, 2022, so this fundraiser is ongoing.
