Jay Castor,  my brother, 73, who lives on SDI, lost his home and all possessions in the Paradise, CA, Camp Fire.  His home, deeded to him when our mother moved out of Paradise to live her last few years with me and my daughter in my home in Napa, CA, was very modest, and, while he paid all property taxes yearly, he could not afford home insurance.  I am hoping that many of the very kind people who have expressed concern for him on Facebook will contribute just a little to this fund, so that he can: 1) Replace his computer, which has been a life-line for him as he has become less able to get around; 2) Replace the weather instruments he had slowly acquired and set up in his backyard, so, as a Weather Watcher for CBS13 Sacramento, he could report details of Paradise weather.  Jay, with a degree in Geography from Chico State, has been a life-long lover of meteorology and an avid Weather Watcher, and he would like to be able to continue contributing to CBS13 as a Weather Watcher wherever he finally resettles, perhaps in Lodi, where he is currently staying with family.
