As some of you know, I have decided to spend the next season of my life with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) Urban Key London. Now that I’ve finished high school, I am really excited to see how God can use my talents outside of a school setting. I am passionate that this kind of work will bring out the best in who God made me to be. I leave for London on July 14, 2018. During my time there, I will be participating in YWAM’s DTS program which is a two-part course that will challenge me to get to know God better and make Him known in a way that is relevant to all people. The first 3 months of the DTS program are spent in the lecture phase where I will take 15 credit hours on topics ranging from the values of YWAM, to the Christian world view. Following the lecture phase, I will spend the next 8 weeks in the outreach phase. Recent outreaches have gone to Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Poland, Argentina, Serbia, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Egypt, and the United States. We will decide on our outreach location during the lecture part of the DTS program. During outreach, I will work alongside churches, charities and homeless shelters as a way of blessing the local community through acts of mercy, evangelism, and practical work. I will be sure to update you once I know where I’ll be going for the outreach portion of this trip.
I’m very excited for this trip and feel like ministry is an area I’m both passionate about and am equipped to do really well. If you would like to support there are 2 primary ways you can do so:
1. Prayer support - having a group of people committed to praying for me during this trip is really important. Prayers for safety, health and discernment. Please email me ([email redacted]) and let me know if you will join me in prayer support.
2. Financial support- The cost for 5 month DTS and outreach program including the school/lecture, accommodations in London, and the outreach total $6,000. I have been working hard at my job throughout the school year and this summer, but can still use additional support.
To get behind me financially, I’d appreciate you considering a gift that will sustain me over the course of the full 5 months. Gifts of $100 (equivalent to $20/month), $250 (equivalent $50/month), or $500 (equivalent $100/month) are much appreciated, but I’ll be very thankful for anything you are willing and able to provide.
