A few weeks ago my brother-in-law, Jay Ware, was diagnosed with stage 3A stomach cancer. He is just 40 years old.
He was told he needed surgery immediately, to remove part of the affected area, and to see if the cancer had spread to any other areas of his body. Unfortunately, upon arriving to the hospital for his scheduled surgery, Jay learned that his insurance will not cover the cost. And in South Korea, where Jay resides, he has no options other than trying to find the money himself. The cost of the surgery alone is $25,000.
As you can imagine, we are devastated- not only for him, but for his young daughter, Bella. We are hoping that between family and friends, we can work together to cover the cost and get Jay in the hospital as soon as possible! Doctors are giving him about a 50% survival rate after the surgery. Without it, obviously those odds are not so good.
Please help us spread the word and help our beloved "Uncle Jacket".
****Updated to add that Jay's had a few procedures, with the help of all of your wonderfully generous donations (wow!!!), and will likely have several more to go. But there is hope, because at the moment it appears that the cancer has not spread to his intestines! Some tumors have already been removed from the lining of his stomach, and although Jay is in a lot of pain, he remains hopeful. We are taking it day by day for now and ask for your continued support, as Jay is unable to work at the moment. Every little bit helps- I can't believe how much you guys have already helped out! It means more to us than I could ever hope to put into words!!! ❤❤❤
