In moments of profound sadness and grief, it is the collective support and kindness of those around that bring solace and strength.

Today I reach out with a heavy heart, following an unexpected and sudden tragedy that has deeply affected a family that’s is dear to me.

On December 12, 2023 we received earth shattering news that the beloved father, husband, son, brother, and friend Jay Van Der Meulen had passed away at the young age of 34 years old.

His sudden departure, has shook us to our core, in the wake of this tragedy, the absence of their father’s presence is an immeasurable void. The family and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Jay will never be the same. He will be remembered for his big heart, even bigger hugs, infectious positivity, his kind and loving demeanour, along with his fun, goofy personality.

His passing left behind 3 beautiful children 13, 12 and 9. Jay loved his children immensely.

 

The outpouring of messages, and kind gestures has been so heartwarming in a time of complete devastation. Please keep the family in your thoughts and thank you for all of your love and support.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go first to covering funeral expenses, and then anything left over will go to supporting his children, Carter, Cassidy, and Cayden through this tragic time.
