In November of 2017, Jess found a lump in her breast and did what everyone should do and went immediately to the doctor and ended up having a biopsy. What happened next would change her life tremendously...hearing the news that she had stage II Triple Negative Breast Cancer. What did she do? She went for a run to try and let it all sink in before sharing what is life shattering news with her husband, family and friends. Alongside her courage and strength, we all rallied together to win this battle. She had 8 rounds of brutal chemo, a mastectomy with 2 lymph nodes removed, an axillary node dissection (10 more lymph nodes removed) and then 6 weeks of the highest dose of radiation. After having a scan, the doctor tells us there are no signs of cancer. Jess wanted to be proactive and get the other breast checked by having a mammogram which showed a questionable spot so she had to have another biopsy which came out negative (YAY) but the scare was too real so the decision was easy, she was having another mastectomy. A very short time later Jess was having excruciating abdominal pain that brought her to ER, where we found out from a ct scan the cancer had spread through her bloodstream to her liver, a couple of her abdominal lymph nodes and possibly a small mass on her lung. Hearing the words stage IV metastatic cancer is GUT WRENCHING and would make anyone give up but not our Jess!! She is a true WARRIOR!!! Her oncologist sent her to Johns Hopkins to see if she could get into a clinical trial with more chemo but this time with immunotherapy. She was accepted into the trial (after a very barbaric liver biopsy). The trial was going really well (shrinking the tumors) but like a lot of treatments, it stopped working.

We are on the hunt for the right treatment with possibilities at NIH in Bethesda and Sloan Kettering in New York.

To say our girl is a warrior is an understatement, to say she is the strongest human on the planet is an understatement, to say she is extraordinary is an understatement! She is AMAZING with her positivity and huge heart! With her family and friends by her side, she will remain on the winning side of this!!

It is never easy to ask for help but the medical expenses are pilling high. If you can help her fight this battle with donations or even an uplifting message to pass on to her, I know it will help her keep with on with all the love and light.

But for the love DON'T send her anything pink!

Just send her all the good juju you can!
