The world lost a good one when Jay Selman left us on March 18th, 2023. For 20-plus years he served the patrons of La Scala Mediterranean Bistro, starting behind the bar serving drinks and later moving to the kitchen. Jay was a downtown staple, known by just about everyone, but La Scala was his home and we would like to put up a permanent memorial to commemorate his life and his dedication to his La Scala family. He also left behind his four-legged companion Bubbas, and any funds that are raised beyond our goal will go towards vet expenses or will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club for athletic scholarships.
