Jay Reese Jubera (1981-2020)
Our dear friend Jay Reese passed away on Thursday December 10, 2020 at the young age of 39 years old surrounded by his loved ones. We deeply mourn the loss of a beloved brother, son, grandson and friend. Not only was Jay Reese a loyal and loving family man and friend, he was also an iconic DJ of the Bay Area who touched so many with his music and talents. His career was vast and he had residencies at many Bay Area arenas: 99.7 NOW, Avery Lounge, SP2 Communal Bar & Restaurant, Taste Nightclub, The Continental, Enso Nightclub, Temple Bar & Lounge, Cardiff Lounge, Empire Room, just to name a few. Aside from being one of the best DJs the Bay Area has ever known, he was also the best human being. Those who have ever had the great honor of meeting this wonderful man can attest to this. His kindness was limitless, and he left a lasting impression on every person he came into contact with. He was genuinely humble, and so selfless, going out of his way to help and encourage others every moment he had. His smile and laugh were contagious to all around him, and would immediately fill the room with joy. He loved his family and friends fully and relentlessly. We are still devastated by the loss of this beautiful man who was taken too soon. Jay Reese, we promise to honor your legacy and follow in your example: to always be kind and to always let those around us know how much we love them, and of course, to always keep the music going. Thank you for the gift of your friendship and your love. You will forever be in our hearts.
