Help my uncle Jay get back on his feet after the Eaton Fire
Dear Friends, Family and Community,
On January 8th, my uncle Jay Wilson faced an unimaginable tragedy when his home, belongings and perhaps most tragically, his art, were destroyed in the Eaton fire. This was all that was left of his sister Francie's house where he's lived for the past 10 years.
An Art Center Alumni and a current art teacher in Altadena, Jay is a brilliant local artist. We estimate that he lost upwards of 70 of his own paintings and close to 30 paintings by other local LA artists. They were his most treasured possessions. And there's no real way to recoup their loss. This is one of my personal favorites that was lost in the fire, but there were so many.
His art was lost alongside all the little day-to-day things we take for granted like clothes, supplies, mementos, tools and the big things we shouldn't, like a roof over our heads.
The funds raised will go directly towards post-FEMA expenses and things that are not covered by FEMA or insurance. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference.
With gratitude to you and love towards the Altadena community,
Kaylie Wilson (Jay's Niece)
