While recovering from my brother’s severe stroke in mid-November, he developed a horrible UTI from a faulty inplanted catheter at the rehab facility, which eventually turned septic in February.

He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors found a blood clot on his heart. Over the weekend, he suffered a second stroke from the clot.

While still in the hospital, he suffered another stroke. He is currently on blood thinners and antibiotics for the infection. He needs to be on IV antibiotics for six weeks, but his rehab facility will not take him back. His insurance will not cover it, and he will need to be discharged somewhere.

We applied for Medicaid, but it could take anywhere from six months to a year before he is considered for approval. We are out of options and need any help you can spare.
