Jay Gera Medical Relief

From laminating to pin-lining to glossing and everything in between, Jay Guera is as close to a legend in the surfboard industry as it can get. Jay has been glassing surfboards since the 70s which equates to about 150,000 boards or 3,000 miles walking around a lamination racks. He is a master when it comes to fiberglass and resin.

On Sunday, March 12, I received a call from Jay about some news that him and his wife, Kathy, were involved in a serious automotive accident on Maui. Jay suffered a right foot fracture, right knee fracture, cracked sternum, 3 broken ribs, and both wrists fractured. His wife Kathy not only has a broken ankle and shoulder but she also had to undergo an operation to relocate her stomach, spleen and esophagus.

Jay would never ask for this type of direct relief, however, at 67 years old, he is still working daily to support him and his wife by glassing boards on Maui. Now with his injuries, he will not be able to hold that resin bucket or walk around the glassing racks for weeks to come and he needs our support.

100% of proceeds will go back to Jay and Kathy so that they can use the relief for medical bills, aid at home when they get released from the hospital, and missed work. If you’ve ever put your hands on a surfboard, there’s a solid chance Jay was involved with the process. He’s one of the most stoked, positive people I have ever met and he would think it’s “bitchin” if we showed him some love.
