Jay's van was stolen with all his equipment in it!
On Sat, Mar 9th Jay came to visit me at my place downtown. Garth Brooks was playing, the was a Monster Truck Rally and the city was packed to the gills with people walking everywhere.
It's a perfect storm for car thieves. We all know Jay's van was a POS. But it was his, free and clear. And it was how he got his percussion instruments from one gig to the other. Unfortunately a 1995 Chevy Rally Van can be broken into by an amatuer thief in about 10 seconds. Jam a screwdriver in the ignition and away you go.
Jay had his iPad, congas, bongos, microphones, mixer, and a plethora of other equipment in his van. EVERYTHING. Without those things, he cannot play his gigs and earn a living.
